The use of multi-touch technology is expected to rapidly become common place. 

For example, touch screen telephones are expected to increase from 200,000 shipped in 2006, to 21 million in 2012. 

Developers of the technology have suggested a variety of ways that multi-touch can be used including:

Enhanced dining experience:

• Order food

• Ask for refills

• Split check

• Pay bill

• Entertainment while dining

Gaming:

Multi touch games could be of use mostly in bars, restaurants, casinos and entertainment centers as well as for individual use on personal computers for adults as well as for young adults, teenagers and children who will all enjoy the new motion and the ability of personally interacting with the games.

Governmental use:

Multi touch screens could be as well useful for governmental purposes in meetings and discussions as well as in official presentations helping in more clearly implying one's purpose or objective.

Mapping:

Mapping is an application where one could go to different places just by clicking on the screen as well as enlarging pictures and zooming in and out of the map. Another option in mapping is tilting the picture until you see the surface of the earth represented as a 3-D dimension where hills, mountains and oceans are clearly represented.

Multimedia experience:

The multimedia is another option that is very easy and fast to use for assembling pictures and videos as well as customizing albums or scrapbooks. Pictures and videos are also enlarged and minimized easily as well as comments could be easily added to them using the multi touch keyboard.

School and educational purposes:

School and education are much more fun with multi touch where all lectures and graphs as well as pictures and all related multimedia could be easily and clearly shown to students. No more chalk and erasers!!!
